DXLab Application Settings
With the exception of DXKeeper, all DXLab applications store all of their settings in the Windows Registry before terminating, and retrieve all of their settings from the Windows Registry immediately after starting up.
DXKeeper stores the following setting in a table contained in each log file:
- All settings on the Configuration window’s “User Items” tab
Default callsigns specified in the “Default Callsigns from <filename>” panel on the Configuration window’s Defaults tab; clicking this panel’s “Maintain in Registry” button will cause these settings to be stored in loaded from the Windows Registry
Club Log settings designated with an asterisk on the QSL Configuration window’s Club Log tab
eQSL settings designated with an asterisk on the QSL Configuration window’s eQSL tab
LoTW settings designated with an asterisk on the QSL Configuration window’s LoTW tab
QRZ settings designated with an asterisk on the QSL Configuration window’s QRZ tab
The DXKeeper settings listed above are stored in the currently open log file whenever they change, and retrieved whenever a log file is loaded – either immediately after starting up, or when you direct DXKeeper to load a new log file.
All other DXKeeper settings are stored in the Windows Registry before terminating, and loaded from the Windows Registry immediately after startup.
A Workspace is a folder containing one registry file for each installed DXLab application. Each application’s registry file contains its settings in text format. From the Launcher’s Workspaces window, you can
- Save a selected DXLab application’s settings to a specified Workspace
- Save all installed DXLab applications’ settings to a specified Workspace
- Load a selected DXLab application’s settings from a specified Workspace
- Load all DXLab applications; settings from a specified Workspace
Because DXLab applications do not store their settings to the Windows Registry until directed to terminate, you must terminate any DXLab application whose settings you wish to save to a Workspace.
