Recovering a QSO from a Backup Log File
If you inadvertently delete a QSO in your current log, you can recover it from a Backup Log File using this procedure:
on the Configuration window's Log tab,
note the pathname of your current log file specified in the Log file panel
note the pathname of the Backup folder specified in the Backup folder panel
in the Log file panel, click the Select button, and in the Select existing log window that appears,
- navigate to your Backup folder
- locate the backup log file from which you wish to obtain the QSO in question, and double-click it; DXKeeper will open the selected backup log file
On the Main window's Log QSOs tab, filter the Log Page Display to contain only the QSO in question; filtering by date and time is a quick and accurate way to do this, e.g. QSO_BEGIN = #2012-11-07 20:01:23#
On the Main window's Export QSOs tab,
click No when asked whether to remove the Log Page Display filter
set the Options panel to Export standard ADIF
click the Start button; in the ADIF Export window that appears, navigate to your DXKeeper folder, and specify a file name X.adi where X is the callsign of the QSO you're restoring (with any embedded slash characters removed)
On the Configuration window's Log tab, click the Log file panel's Select button, and in the Select existing log window that appears, select your current log file using the pathname you noted in step 1a above
On the Main window's Import QSOs tab,
set the ADIF style options panel to standard ADIF
uncheck all boxes in the Substitution options and Replacement options panels, as well as any inappropriate settings in the Options panel (e.g. Default to send via bureau, Guarantee unique start times)
click the Start button, and in the ADIF Import window that appears, select the X.adi file that you exported in step 3c above
