Reverting to a Previous Version of a DXLab Application
If you have version x.y.z of a DXLab application installed, then the the files applicationxyz.exe and application.exe will be present in that application's folder, where application.exe is one of
CI-C Commander.exe
DXKeeper.exe
DXView.exe
DXLabLauncher.exe
Pathfinder.exe
Propview.exe
SpotCollector.exe
WinWarbler.exe
If x.y.z is the most recent version of a particular application, then the file application.exe is a copy of the file applicationxyz.exe. For example, if the current version of Commander is 11.2.3, then CI-V Commander.exe is a copy of CI-V Commander1123.exe
Whenever the Launcher upgrades a new application to a new version, say a.b.c, it
deletes the existing application.exe
downloads the new applicationabc.exe
makes a copy of applicationabc.exe and names that copy application.exe
Thus when the Launcher is directed to start an application, it does so by directing Windows to run application.exe.
Reverting to a previous version x.y.z of an application can thus be accomplished by
- terminating the application if it is running
- directing Windows Explorer to navigate to the application's folder and
deleteing the application.exe file
making a copy of applicationzyx.exe and naming that copy application.exe
For example, to revert from Commander version 11.2.3 to 11.2.0,
- terminate Commander
direct Windows Explorer to navigate to your Commander folder and
delete the CI-V Commander.exe file
make a copy of CI-V Commander1120.exe and name that copy CI-V Commander.exe
When the Launcher then starts Commander, version 11.2.0 of Commander would run.
To return to Commander version 11.2.3,
- terminate Commander
direct Windows Explorer to navigate to your Commander folder and
delete the CI-V Commander.exe file
make a copy of CI-V Commander1123.exe and name that copy CI-V Commander.exe
When the Launcher then starts Commander, version 11.2.3 of Commander would run.
